Verse One

Sometimes I feel like my world wont spin around

I do what I can to keep my feet on the ground

As I watch those I love move past

I do by best to hold and grasp

I get mixed feelings of who I might be

Following my peers sounds most easy

But even my friends could pretend it’s a game

That could eventually drive me insane

Chorus

As a child – I learned all about that

No one told me that life is a combat

Playing with my friends and living life

I was a good child, until that dark night

Verse Two

Spending most of my time doing what I want

Then there are people who tell me to stop

I can’t seem to move past

Even though I’m moving way too fast

I’m not listening to what they say

Even though they’re here to help me to find my way

Here I cope behind these rusty old bars

And freedom looks as far as Mars

Chorus

As a child – I learned all about that

No one told me that life is like combat

Playing with my friends and living life

I was a good child, until that dark night

Playing with my friends and living life

I was a good child, until that dark night
